Go to x360.ini on the GTA v root file..open it with notepad locate "Version=2" and change it to Version=1. I already did all these, and it didn't work. I think the problem is with the UCOM gamepad, as Left doesn't seem to have UP & DOWN, it can only do left and right. And UP analog is actually what one need to move the GTA V character forward
The joystick would never again simulate molasses; my joystick would never would never throb in anyone's hands again. Though return to center still worked, so I could still creep out my adult mates with the old trick. I could use it in Battlefield for basic heli/jet flying, so I was happy enough, though I was very disappointed GTA didn't support it.

What likely is happening that one of the trackpads is being sent to the game as a mouse input, causing the game to get all confused. Console "controllers" (yeah in quotes) are a joke compared to a real joystick/throttle setup. It is embarrassing to even compare the two. Maybe for a flight simulator. For GTA an XBOX 360 controller works as well or better than a joystick. Umm I was obviously refering to the parts of GTA in which you are required to fly. Dur
