Idon't even touch the Sony's anymore. They definitely have more bass than the Airpod Pro 2's but overall they just sound muddy and no clarity. The APP2's drastically changed their sound over the first generation and they sound as good as you're gonna get with a set of Bluetooth earphones.

TheAirpods Pro 2 is $240, which is exactly the price I can afford. The Sony WH-1000XM4 is $330, so I'll have to save a bit more. One last point is whether either of these two would be a serious upgrade from a 3 year old Airpods 2. Of course I said I could buy headphones, but if you have a comment like it's not worth 240$, I'd like to hear it.TheAirPods Pro 2 do sound better but not massively so, the v 1S are great. So get the Sony if you want better music quality the pro 1 and not as bothered about comfort, apple ecosystem, and call quality. but need to hope the battery bug gets fixed. Get the AirPods Pro 1 if you happy to have a slightly worse audio quality but better everything Batterylife is considerably different between the Apple AirPods Max and Sony WH-1000XM4, with the latter offering better performance. As per my testing, the AirPods Max can run for around 13-14 hours per charge in typical conditions, while the Sony WH-1000XM4 ran for twice as long at around 28 hours per charge.
