What happens with the engine light is if the car is driven a couple of times under a standard drive (about 15 min or more) and the computer notices it is not having that same fault it will turn the check engine light off itself. Unfortunately it doesn't mean that it is fixed.

My 2015 ST Diesel is on 91,500, high pressure fuel pump still going ok at the moment (He says with fingers crossed!!), however I have seen evidence of metal swarf in the fuel filter housing, which apparently is a good indication it’s starting to fail. Theissue seemed to take a few seconds longer to start up again this time but it did indeed continue to happen. Solution This is a very common problem with any Ford Focus that was built between 2012 and 2013 that was fitted with 1.0-litre Ecoboost. The problem is caused by a leaking coolant, and it needs a new 'Degas' hose fitted. You can fairly easily check yourself if the Degas hose has been fitted, and if it isn't, you can get one with us. Reliability5/10 – There are engine & transmission problems found on the 2016 Focus. We recommend avoiding models from 2012 -2016 while 2017 – 2018 are both better years.
