I only made use of the functionality a couple of times. so canceled the service. then I realized that the AW cellular service is on a monthly subscription basis.
Justwanted to say that itâs perfectly possible to activate a European cellular service on a US model, even without the black magic that OP did. At least two major European carriers offer an alternative EID-based eSIM activation, which bypasses the otherwise pointless restriction from Apple.

GPSonly worth it? A while back I bought an SE with cellular and I loved the look, the band was comfortable, and I enjoyed the tracking and breathe mode. However, I ended up returning it bc I realized I never leave without my phone anyways and it felt unnecessary to pay for data on a watch when I already have a phone.
Unlessyou truly feel like you're going to be away from your phone regularly I'd say don't bother with the cellular model. I fretted over this decision myself before buying my watch recently and I have no regrets going with the GPS watch. In the rare instance I'm not near my phone wi-fi is often an option anyway.
